This green commemorative plaque records: The Cout of Keilder's Grave. Traditionally the grave of a Tynedale Baron who terrorised these lands until he was drowned in the nearby Hermitage water.
The Cout of Keilder was a notorious Tynedale Baron remembered for his acts of terror in the region; his drowning in Hermitage Water is seen as justice for his deeds.
