What is recorded here
Lough Sheeauns dips into a hollow where a ruined court tomb still holds its shape. The funnel-shaped court faces east, while a narrow rear chamber lies two metres west, perhaps sealed once by a large displaced stone. People may have gathered there in darkness, laying dead beside water and remembering names no longer spoken.
In a hollow to S of Lough Sheeauns. This tomb is very ruined. At E are the remains of a funnel-shaped court and 2m to W of this the rear chamber of the gallery (L 3m, Wth 1m). A large stone at the gallery entrance may be a displaced jamb. Traces of a low mound are visible to N and S of the monument and the remains of an old field wall survive to SW. See also GA022-006----.

Court tomb, dating to the Neolithic period (c. 3500–2500 BCE). Its funnel-shaped court and gallery indicate a significant early ritual or burial structure, typical of early megalithic traditions in Ireland.
