Seanachaidh in County Mayo once held a court tomb where ancient people laid their dead beneath heavy stone. By 1995 the monument had vanished completely, quarried away for building material or roadwork. The chamber that may have stood for thousands of years disappeared into ordinary walls and streets, erasing the last visible proof that the living and dead once shared that exact ground.
On inspection in 1995 this monument was found to have been completely quarried away.
