Aughnagon holds a prehistoric court tomb where ancient people shaped stone into a chamber for the dead. The structure still stands in County Down, marked as scheduled and separate from ordinary field boundaries. Those who built it understood death as a ceremony worthy of visible craft. They raised stone against forgetting, creating a place where the living could return beside the departed.
