This stone commemorative plaque records: Corstorphine Hill Tower. Sir Walter Scott 1771-1832. Erected in 1871 by Wm. McFie of Clermiston. Presented in 1932 to the city by W.G. Walker C.A. F.S.A. Scot.
Corstorphine Hill Tower was erected in 1871 as a memorial to Sir Walter Scott, the renowned Scottish historical novelist and poet; it was later presented to the city of Edinburgh in 1932.
