Corn Du has an elevation of approximately 691 metres and is part of the Black Mountains range in Powys. It is composed primarily of Silurian greywacke and is known locally as the "King of the Mountains," with a name derived from the Welsh "Carn Dda," meaning "good stone" or "good hill." It matters as a notable landmark within the Brecon Beacons National Park and for its cultural and historical significance in Welsh hillwalking traditions.
