The Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway was a regional railway line connecting Bath in Somerset to Bournemouth in Dorset, known for its scenic routes; it ceased operations on March 6, 1966, marking the end of an important transportation link that played a significant role in the economic and social development of West Country towns.
