This blue commemorative plaque records: The Manor House. Formerly known as the Rectory Manor. Once Part of the Benedictine Priory of Ware, suppressed 1414. In 1546 became part of Henry VIII’s endowment of Trinity College, Cambridge which it owned until 1951 Recorded plaque organisation: Ware Town Council.
The Manor House was once part of the Benedictine Priory of Ware, dissolved during the Reformation in 1414, and later became property of Trinity College, Cambridge, reflecting significant changes in English religious and educational institutions.
