Commemorative plaque 78043

Blue plaque

What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: In the early 19th century the Peacock Pub stood on this site. Before that it was a Bakehouse. The original cottages were replaced by a single dwelling in the late 1940's by local craftsman, Walter Bray, who reused the original Northamptonshire quarried stone in the construction of the house that stands today. In the late 20th century it became the home of Brixworth Pottery. Recorded plaque organisation: Brixworth Heritage Trail.
The site marks a transformation from an early 19th-century pub and former bakehouse to a house built by local craftsman Walter Bray in the late 1940s, which later became associated with Brixworth Pottery.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
