This black commemorative plaque records: Parliament Square. When David II was taken by the English in 1346 the Scottish Parliament met in Peebles, perhaps in this old courtyard Recorded plaque organisation: Peebles Town Council.
David II, King of Scots from 1329 to 1371, was captured by the English in 1346 during the Battle of Neville's Cross, leading to Scottish Parliament temporarily relocating meetings to Peebles to continue governance.
