This blue commemorative plaque records: Gatehouse Tewkesbury Abbey Grange This 14th century house afforded entry into a cluster of farm buildings belonging to the grange of Tewkesbury Abbey. The grange was an estate also known as West Llantwit or Abbot's Llantwit. After the dissolution of the monasteries it was sold to Edward Stradling and later descended to the Earl of Plymouth. On the south side the dovecot and remnants of the tithe barn are still visible. Recorded plaque organisation: Llantwit Major Local History Society.

The Gatehouse at Tewkesbury Abbey Grange served as an entry point to a significant agricultural estate owned by Tewkesbury Abbey in the 14th century; after the Dissolution of the Monasteries, it became part of private estates owned by notable figures such as Edward Stradling and the Earl of Plymouth.
