This blue commemorative plaque records: House of Adam of Jesmond. Built before 1267; probably abandoned by 17th Century. Little known of its history. Given to Newcastle in 1879 as part of the Armstrong's Park. Repairs in 1897 directed by W.H. Knowles, Architect. Recorded plaque organisation: City of Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear County Council.

Adam of Jesmond was a notable landowner in medieval Northumberland; his house, built before 1267, is significant for its association with early medieval landed gentry and later transformation into a public park in Newcastle.
