What is recorded here

This blue commemorative plaque records: There has been a shop on this site for centuries. From the 1790s up to the 1870s the Flawn family had a blacksmiths shop. The Peck family then built a butchers shop and, in the 1960s, the Anderson family took over the butchers. Recorded plaque organisation: Eatons Community Association.
The site has maintained commercial continuity since at least the late 18th century, initially as a blacksmith's shop operated by the Flawn family, later transitioning to a butcher's shop under the Peck and Anderson families, reflecting the enduring local commerce in one location.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
