This blue commemorative plaque records: Quakers. Bournemouth's original Quaker meeting house stood on part of this site for 82 years before being given to Marks & Spencer in 1964 in exchange for the present Quaker meeting house in Wharcliffe Road, Boscombe Recorded plaque organisation: Borough of Bournemouth, Marks & Spencer, Religious Society of Friends.
The plaque commemorates Bournemouth's original Quaker meeting house, a significant religious and community hub for local Quakers from its establishment until 1964, reflecting the enduring presence of Quakerism in the area.
