This blue commemorative plaque records: Mary Queen of Scots house. Dating from the 16th century, this house is of a style typical of the Scottish Borders and contains within it part of a bastel-house. Jedburgh had at least 6 such defensive towers within the town and this is the only one remaining. Within the garden you can also view a remarkable 8th Anglian cross base.
