Colum Eastwood was born in Derry, County Derry, on 30 April 1983. He joined the SDLP at fourteen to campaign for the Good Friday Agreement and became the city’s youngest mayor at twenty-seven. Derry gave him its streets, its schools and its political fire before he carried them into wider chambers.
