Collairnie Castle is an L-plan medieval castle in Dunbog, Fife, where the Barclay family lived until 1789 and the Balfours took it over. Tradition claims Mary Queen of Scots spent three nights there in 1564 and stayed again on 26 January 1565, though the main block has since been reduced to one storey inside a 19th-century farm steading. Two painted ceilings remain in the surviving floors, bright under the farm’s working shadow.

Collairnie Castle was built by the Leslie family in the 15th century and is remembered for its strategic importance in the defense of Fife during the medieval period.
