Coleshill Water Tower

Coleshill Water Tower rose thirty metres above Buckinghamshire in 1915, forcing water through copper pipes to Amersham, Beaconsfield and Chesham Bois while German prisoners of war pushed trucks across the road. The red brick cylinder held a massive steel tank, but residents later climbed inside the converted tower to watch Canary Wharf and Guilford Cathedral emerge through clear air. What began as industrial muscle for a growing district became a private vantage point, proving that even obsolete infrastructure can reclaim dignity when people choose to live inside its bones.
