Coillessan

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Coillessan as Carved Stone(s) (early Medieval), Church (early Medieval)(possible). Coillessan is associated with Saint Fillan, a 7th-century Irish monk and healer known for his miracles and patronage of the sick. Holy wells linked to Saint Fillan were traditionally visited for cures, particularly for skin diseases and lameness, with rituals often involving the immersion of the afflicted or the drinking of the water.
