What is recorded here

Mortons and Cluny Castle still stand beside each other in Laggan, though the castle lost most of its walls and identity before the well stopped being remembered. A spring feeding that house would have sustained kitchens, gardens and every person who depended on the building, yet no date, owner or surviving stone is recorded to mark the arrangement. The absence does not diminish the place; it removes the false certainty that a castle must still be visible for its world to have existed.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Cluny Castle, Spring Well as Well (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
