Cluny Castle stands in Highland, Scotland, occupying the site where a older residence was burnt by the Duke of Cumberland in 1746. The current building, completed in 1810, replaced that lost structure and continues to mark the identity of the place. Beneath the courtyard, a hidden vaulted room and spring-fed well were once pointed out before being filled in, preserving a ghost of the earlier home inside the ground.
