What is recorded here

Clunie Castle in Perth and Kinross is a castle named in lists but recorded only as unassigned penannular brooches. The name suggests a lost fortress while the evidence offers small personal ornaments instead. Perhaps a great hall collapsed into grass and left behind only what fit in a pocket. The land may have worn away more than it preserved.
Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Clunie Castle as Penannular Brooch(s) (period Unassigned). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 100m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
