Rural retreat of T. E. Lawrence.
Clouds Hill was the rural retreat and final home of T. E. Lawrence, the renowned British military officer and writer known as Lawrence of Arabia. It is important as the place where he lived in relative seclusion after World War I and where he died in 1935, reflecting his desire for privacy and connection to the English countryside.
