What is recorded here

Clochan in Gleann Fán was a small stone shelter now destroyed, recorded in the late nineteenth century and later surveyed on the Dingle Peninsula. It may have hidden travellers from Kerry rain or given a hermit a dry corner beside the valley. The stones are gone, but the valley still remembers the shape of the hole they dug in the earth.

Curran (no.29) and Macalister (1899, 244) recorded a destroyed clochaun here. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter.
