Clochan

What is recorded here

No. There is not enough fact for the requested story.
The townland boundary wall to E of the possible leacht (KE052-022004-) at the childrens burial ground (KE052-022001-) exhibits a pronounced curve which may indicate the site of a clochaun and there is a small semi-circular recess at ground level on its inner face here. The latter is .5m wide, .55m high and 1m deep. The above description is derived from J. Cuppage (compiler) 'Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey.' Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne (1986), no. 877. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 30 May 2013
