Clints Scar is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous limestone, formed around 340 to 320 million years ago through the accumulation of marine sediments. The cliff is notable for its exposure of well-bedded limestone, which provides insight into ancient reef environments and is commonly associated with the regional geology of the Yorkshire Dales and coastal areas.
