Site of the Clayport Gate in the City Wall. Removed 1791
Clayport Gate was one of the original gates in York's city wall, providing access to the area known as Clayport. It was removed in 1791 as part of urban redevelopment, marking the gradual dismantling of medieval defenses in the city.
