What is recorded here
Shankill in Magheramayo still carries a church and graveyard though no exact date or surviving building remains certain. The site may have marked a small worship place, a burial ground or both, and the names alone suggest people gathered there to pray, remember and belong. Whatever vanished, the land kept the shape of that life.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CHURCH (site of) & GRAVEYARD: SHANKILL. Recorded period: UNCERTAIN. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
