CHURCH (site of); GRAVEYARD: CREVINISH CASTLE

What is recorded here

Creinish castle in Fermanagh wore a church and graveyard before it disappeared, perhaps swallowed by water or forgotten by men. The post-medieval site still carries that shape in its name, a reminder that devotion and death once shared the same ground.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CHURCH (site of); GRAVEYARD: CREVINISH CASTLE. Recorded period: POST-MED. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
Crevinish Castle was built in the 17th century by the MacDonnell clan, who were prominent Gaelic lords in the area. It is remembered as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is associated with the historical and cultural heritage of the Crevinish peninsula in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
