CHURCH SITE in Kilbegs

Kilbegs holds a church site in County Antrim, though no date or building name has survived to sharpen its edge. The ground may have marked a chapel, a shrine or a boundary stone misread as worship. People may have gathered there in rain, sung without roofs or buried their dead beneath grass now indistinguishable from ordinary field. What is certain is only that the place was set apart, and that forgetting has begun to erase the shape of the setting.
