In pasture, on N-facing slope. Slight hollow (diam. 30m) remains at N end of field, locally said to be position of church site and burial ground. According to O'Riordain (1931, 5-6), site of cill and associated holy well. O'Donoghue (1986, 133) refers to Killountain as Cill Fhionntain - St.Fintan's church. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
