Chink Well is a natural spring hidden deep inside a Portrane sea cave, emerging only when the tide retreats. The name records its purpose, since local families carried children there to cure whooping cough. One story claims fleeing priests prayed for water during the Penal period, while another credits the plain miracle of fresh spring water defying the salt sea around it.
