What is recorded here
Childrens Burial Ground occupies a slightly raised, overgrown rectangle in County Galway, where two small stones still mark the edge of forgotten lives. The grass has long swallowed most traces, leaving behind a quiet place where childhood ended before adulthood began.
On a slight rise in grassland. Poorly preserved densely overgrown roughly rectangular unenclosed burial ground (NW-SE 27m, NE-SW 17m). Only two small set stones are visible within the interior.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
