Children's graves in County Kerry: small upright slabs, no writing, a broken circle on Dolus Head. The name does not claim every child in the world, only the place where adults set stones for the young dead. Modern use has cut through the old edge, but the slabs still stand like a row of forgotten knees.

Children's Burial Ground: The enclosing element of this approximately circular site is severely eroded and modified. It is located in gently sloping pasture on the landward end of Dolus Head and measures 19m in diameter. The original enclosing earthen bank is well-preserved only at N, where it stands 1.25m high internally. The instillation of a sewage tank has resulted in its obliteration at W. A modern field wall overlies it at S. The interior of the site is occupied by a series of small, uninscribed upright slabs, particularly in its E half. The site was no longer in use as a burial ground by the late nineteenth century. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J.
