Children died young in County Galway and their graves still mark the west half of a cashel. Set stones align east to west across an open strip thirty metres long, waiting for rain and footsteps. One eighteenth-century marker names the O'Daly's of Dunsandle, tying a local family to that quiet ground. The children are gone, but their shapes remain in the layout, small and repeated like a rhythm forgotten by adults.
