
Why this matters
Chat Tor is a small granite tor rising above the surrounding moorland in West Devon, with an elevation of approximately 460 metres. It is part of the Dartmoor granite massif and is associated with local folklore, including tales of hidden caves and ancient settlements. The tor contributes to the cultural and geological heritage of the Dartmoor National Park.
