This blue commemorative plaque records: Patrick Bronte (1777-1861) The Old School Room Haworth built this school for the children of Haworth. Charlotte, Branwell, Emily and Anne all taught here. Site of Charlotte's wedding reception in 1854
Patrick Brontë was the Reverend and father of the Brontë sisters, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne, who are renowned for their significant contributions to English literature; Charlotte Brontë authored "Jane Eyre," Emily Brontë wrote "Wuthering Heights," and Anne Brontë penned "Agnes Grey" and "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall." Branwell Brontë was their brother who struggled with addiction, while Arthur Bell Nicholls was Charlotte's husband.
