What is recorded here

This stone commemorative plaque records: This was the site of the gate leading to the church used by the Brontë family and through which they were carried to their final resting place in the church.
The Brontë sisters, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne, are renowned for their significant contributions to English literature with works such as "Jane Eyre," "Wuthering Heights," and "Agnes Grey"; their brother Branwell was an artist and writer, though less successful; their father Rev. Patrick Brontë was a clergyman at Haworth Parish Church; Maria and Elizabeth Brontë were their elder sisters who died young; Maria Branwell was their mother.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
