Charles Lennox, Third Duke of Richmond, was a prominent British aristocrat and military officer who served as Master-General of the Ordnance from 1782 to 1795; he is remembered for founding the First Troop of the Royal Horse Artillery in 1793, which marked an important development in British cavalry tactics.
