Islet

What is recorded here

Chapel Island is a small islet in Strangford Lough, County Down, holding a ruined chapel, kelp kilns and fish traps. It has watched the Ards Peninsula from the water for centuries, perhaps serving monks, fishermen and kelp workers in turn. The sea kept it separate, but people kept returning to use what it gave them.
