This blue commemorative plaque records: Sir Cedric Hardwicke actor of stage and screen, theatre director, particularly known for his interpretations of Shaw and Shakespeare. Born at Lye Cross 19 February 1893 knighted in 1933 and returned in 1935 to open the new library d. 6 August 1964 New York Recorded plaque organisation: Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council.
