Death and burial are clear. The cave may have held a horse before people packed it back into earth. That much is in the story told locally. Whether the chamber was made for a rider, a child or a god is no longer answerable. The wall stands with a square hole where the chamber disappeared. A ringfort keeps that much of the transaction intact.

Associated with a ringfort (GA057-121----). On 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1933) a small open circle appears at N limits of the hachures defining the cashel. What is visible is an almost square hollow (L/Wth 3m) cut into the outer face of the collapsed wall of the cashel. According to local information, a horse was buried in the 'cave' which was then infilled.
