Cathy Belton

Cathy Belton was born in Galway in 1970, the western birthplace of an actress who later carried Irish life into British and international screens. She studied at Trinity College, Dublin, then gave herself to stage and television work, appearing in Red Rock, Miss Scarlet and The Duke, Hidden Assets and films such as Philomena and Herself. Galway did not need to be famous through her; it only needed to have made her sharp enough to leave it behind.
