This bronze commemorative plaque records: KP Here lies Queen Katherine Parr wife to King Henry VIII and last the wife of Thomas Lord of Sudeley High Admiral of England and uncle to King Edward VI. Died 5th September 1548
Queen Catherine Parr was the sixth and final wife of King Henry VIII and played a significant role in reconciling the king with his daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. Thomas Seymour, as Lord Admiral and uncle to Edward VI, attempted to position himself as a powerful figure during the minority of Edward VI but was executed for treason.
