Castleton Harbour sits in East Lothian, its exact position known within ten metres though no date or purpose has emerged. The sea may have given up its logs, ledgers and lives, leaving only wet stone and salt air. A harbour needs people to be a harbour, so perhaps it waited for someone busy enough to stop asking permission and start remembering.
