What is recorded here

Castlelaw Hill holds a twentieth-century marker cairn above the old Castlelaw fort, joining modern survey lines to much older defence works. The hill has watched soldiers drill, horses breathe, and men set stones across centuries. It is not a romantic ruin but a lived boundary where people kept returning to mark, defend, and remember.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlelaw Hill as Marker Cairn (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 1m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
