Castlehill Reservoir and Dam occupy Perth and Kinross as a twentieth-century waterworks, built to capture rain and release it when people needed it. The dam holds back a wide sheet of water while the reservoir stores it for miles away, turning local weather into useful life elsewhere. Whether castles ever stood on the hill or the name only promises greatness, the water still obeys the brick and stone that men shaped against gravity.

Scotland's National Record of the Historic Environment records Castlehill Reservoir and Dam as Dam (20th Century), Reservoir (20th Century). The official map says its point is accurate as follows: NGR given to the nearest 10m. The record does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
