Castlehill Plantation occupies a narrow strip of Inverclyde where a possible farmstead and post Medieval sheepfold still mark the land. The exact function of each part remains open, but the names suggest people lived there, kept animals there and changed the ground enough for the change to survive. The site may be private, yet its shape is clear enough to imagine hands on rails, lambs in folds and a kitchen window catching the last light.
