What is recorded here

Castlehill Pavement Works, Quarry is a Highland cutting where stone was taken for pavement, though no date or owner is recorded. The rocks may still hold the shape of hammers and the smell of rain on broken granite. A man could have stood at the edge, listened for a loose shard, and carried one home to mark a threshold. The quarry does not need a name or a year to be real; it is a hole made by human hands, waiting for someone to remember the weight of what was removed.
