Castlehill is a Bronze Age cup marked stone in Birnie, Moray, where small hollows still hold rainwater long after the carvers left. It stands near the reputed ancient palace of Birnie, suggesting the hill has watched human ambition rise and collapse for millennia. People may have read warnings, claims or warnings about ownership in those cups, turning stone into a language that needs no voice. The absence of grand ruins does not diminish the place; it preserves the mystery of what was marked, claimed or forgotten there.
